How to install Mac Apps via Self Service
If you are using a newer device that is enrolled into Mosyle, you can use the Self-Service option to add your own apps.
Using Self Service:
- Find the Mosyle Manager app in your Applications folder (if you do not see this app, you are using an older device that has not been wiped and enrolled yet)
Note: If your Mac does not have Mosyle Manager installed, please see the bottom for details on installing apps or enrolling into Mosyle.
- Once the Manager App has launched, click Self Service at the bottom of the window:
Note: When you are assigned the device and logged into the Mosyle Manager app, you will see Self Service located here: - This will then load the My Apps tab by default. To install, update, or re-install an app, click the install button below the desired app:
If you do not see an app you would like included on this list, submit a helpdesk ticket with the details of the app. Apple Support can configure the app to install automatically on a set of devices (classroom set), even after the device is wiped, saving you time and energy.
Installing Apps on Non-Mosyle-Enrolled iMacs and MacBooks
We highly recommend that you have your device enrolled into Mosyle in order to best support and troubleshoot device issues in the future. To do so, please submit a help desk ticket for Client Services to wipe and enroll the device properly in Mosyle. Note: Enrolling requires that we wipe the device, so please back up data first.
If you do NOT want to enroll your district device into Mosyle at this time, you will need to use (and/or create) and log in to the Apple Store with a non@boiseschools.org Apple ID. (Apple has reserved @boiseschools.org addresses for specific uses.)
