When Student(s) Can’t Connect/Log-in to Seesaw Classroom
Information & Materials You’ll Need:
- Student Quickcard
- BSD Student Email & Password
Step 1: Using a BSD Chromebook, use the student quickcard or BSD Email and Password to sign the student into the device.
Step 2: From the MyApps page, Choose the Seesaw App
Step 3: After you click the Seesaw App, you may be prompted to input the student email & password. You can find this information in Infinite Campus. Enter both and click the blue “save” button.
Note: Give the computer time to sync the accounts. For some kids, this logs them into Seesaw. However, for some students the next screen that appears is an error message: “You aren’t Connected to any Classes Yet.”
Step 5: If you see the “You aren’t connected to any classes yet” message, click the blue “Enter Student Code”.
Step 6: To get the code you need for the student device, log into your desktop computer or personal BSD Device, pull up your Seesaw Teacher Account. In the bottom right corner, click the +Students Icon
Step 7: On the next screen, scroll down until you see the QR Code Icon with the Blue Code under it. Enter the Blue Code onto the Student Device. Then click Join Class.
If you notice a duplicate student appearing on your roster after the child gets connected, follow the steps below to remove the duplicate student from your roster.
How to Remove Duplicate Student
The student connected to Seesaw will have a square icon with initials or an animal/picture icon. Unconnected students will have a circle with an initial.
Step 1: To remove a student from your roster, click the wrench icon in the top right of your screen.
Step 2: Scroll down and Click “Manage Students”
Step 3: Find the duplicate student with the circle initials, Click their name.
Step 4: At the bottom of the screen, click the red “Remove Student from Class”
On the next screen you’ll be asked if you are sure you want to remove the student, click the red “Remove Student.”
