ChromeOS includes tools for reading, typing, seeing the screen, hearing audio, and using the pointer.

Open accessibility settings

  1. Select the time at the bottom right, or press Alt + Shift + S.
  2. Open Settings > Accessibility.
  3. Choose a feature and turn it on or adjust it for your needs.

Useful options

  • Text-to-speech: hear screen content or selected text read aloud.
  • Display and magnification: enlarge content or adjust colors.
  • Keyboard and text input: use dictation, the on-screen keyboard, or Sticky keys.
  • Cursor and touchpad: adjust the pointer or use automatic clicks.
  • Audio and captions: adjust audio accessibility settings or use Live Caption for supported media.

Return to the same setting to adjust it or turn it off. If a setting is unavailable on a district device, ask your teacher or the Help Desk.
