Software updates help keep your device secure and can fix problems. Save your work, connect to Wi-Fi, and plug the device into power before starting. Choose a time when you will not need it for class.
Update an iPad
- Open Settings > General > Software Update.
- If an update is available, follow the on-screen instructions to download and install it.
- Leave the iPad connected to power while it updates.
Update a Mac
- Choose Apple menu > System Settings > General > Software Update.
- If an update is available, follow the on-screen instructions to install it.
- Keep the Mac plugged in and leave the lid open until installation finishes.
If you cannot update
District management may control which updates are available. If a setting is unavailable or installation fails, students should ask their teacher. Staff can submit a Help Desk request with the error and device serial number.
