uniFLOW Troubleshooting Tips

If printing is not working, save your work and start with the matching section below. Avoid sending the same job repeatedly.

uniFLOW is missing from the print options

  1. Check that uniFLOW SmartClient is installed and running.
    • Windows: Open Start and search for uniFLOW SmartClient.
    • Mac: Open Finder > Applications and look for uniFLOW SmartClient.
  2. Open SmartClient and complete any district sign-in prompts. Try printing again.
  3. If SmartClient is missing, check Company Portal on Windows or Manager > My Apps on macOS. Install uniFLOW if it is available.
  4. If it is missing from self service or will not install, contact IT.

The uniFLOW print window does not appear

  1. Find the SmartClient icon in the Windows system tray or Mac menu bar. On Windows, you may need to expand the hidden icons.
  2. Right-click the icon and choose Exit on Windows or Quit on Mac.
  3. Reopen uniFLOW SmartClient, sign in if prompted, and try a small test print.

The job finishes, but nothing prints

  1. Check which destination you selected. A secure-print job waits for you to sign in at a supported copier and release it.
  2. If a specific printer says it is unavailable, check that your device is on BSD-Devices or the district wired network, not BSD-Guest.
  3. Check the printer display for an error. Restart SmartClient using the steps above, then try one small test job.

A copier will not read your badge

Use your existing uniFLOW PIN if available. Report the copier location and displayed error to IT. Do not unplug or restart shared copier equipment while someone else is using it.

Still not working?

Restart your computer and try again. If the problem continues, send IT the device serial number, printer location, selected destination, exact error, and whether other people can print. Do not uninstall the managed client unless IT directs you.
